Jack Freestone gewinnt den ASP World Junior Title

North Narrabeen/Australien. Nach einem hart umkämpften Finalheat gewann der 20-jährige Marc Lacomare gegen das US-Talent Nat Young (19) nach Punkten 14 zu 11,5. Obwohl der Franzose zu Beginn des Heats noch in Rückstand gelegen war, meldete er sich noch mit zwei Linken zurück und konnte sich somit die Gesamtpunktzahl von 14 sichern. Lacomare nach seinem Triumph: “I feel great, it’s been a great event for me. Congrats to Nat (Young) and Jack (Freestone). It was a great trip in Australia and thanks to the locals too for sharing their break.” Nat Young begann den Heat furios und konnte bereits mit den ersten beiden Wellen seine Endpunktzahl erreichen. Doch in den letzten Minuten des Heats holte ihn Lacomare ein und Nat Young versuchte noch einmal zu kontern, doch er konnte den Franzosen nicht mehr einholen. Young: “The day had just gone perfect all morning. That Final was a little slow, but I don’t think I would have gotten the score on that last ride because I messed up at the beginning. Congratulations to Jack (Freestone) and Marc (Lacomare) and I’d also like to say thanks to the Enevers for taking care of me all week.”

 

 

 

 

Jack Freestone, der das erste Event der World Junior Tour auf Bali gewinnen konnte, reichte in Australien ein neunter Platz, um sich den ASP World Junior Title zu sichern. Freestone: “It’s been a mixed roller coaster of emotions watching the heats unfold. Big congratulations to all of the guys. It’s a dream come true. I never thought it would come true after placing 9th in this event, but I’m just so happy.” Die Junioren kämpften bei den Billabong World Championships nicht nur um den Titel, die besten 4 des Rankings bekommen Startplätze für die Runde der besten 96 bei allen ASP Prime Events des Jahres!
