Big Prize Brazil of Skate Slalom:
The
most famous automotive race tracks in South America will host another
kind of 4-wheel fast vehicles competition for the first time ever. On
the same spot in which the latest Formula 1 championship was decided,
the best slalom skateboarders in Brazil will duel against some of the
world's finest as Interlagos will host the Grande Premio Brasil de
Slalom Skate on November 20th, a national holliday in Brazil.
It'll be the first chance for local
talents such as Kako Max, Tiago Tebet, Juliano Cassemiro and Thiago
Gardenal to battle against foreign talents like Jason Mitchell
(current world champion) and Barret "Chicken" Deck (former
2X world champion), who will be the first "gringos" to ever
compete in a slalom competition in Brazil. Since the track has just
been repaved, riders will enjoy a thrill only shared by the world's
top pilots - only our cars don't have any breaks at all...
The competition will also be socially
concerned, as the entrance ticket for the public will be 1 kg of any
non-perishable food product. The total amount collected will be
donated to non-governmental organizations who will distribute the
food for the most needed. Sponsored by Wave Boys skate shop, Pocket
Pistols, Liga de Esportes and Secretaria Municipal de Esportes da
Cidade de São Paulo (the Sports League and the Secretary of
Sports of the City of São Paulo), the event will be supported
by a good number of national and international skate and non-skate
related companies, and will also be sanctioned by the ISSA
(International Slalom Skateboarding Association).
This is another proof that the local "Cone Burners" are coming around - FAST!!!
